Playing Soft Hands

The term soft hands mean that the hand has an Ace at casinos. There is so flexibility in how to play the hand because you are less likely to lose with an Ace in your hand because it can be uses as a 1 or a 10. It really is almost impossible to go bust with a soft hand. You have to remember in a game of soft hands that when the card total is getting high you must use that Ace as a one. If you have a 5 or a 6 in your hand then you want to double down. The reason being that if you are dealt a 10 you have almost the same total as you started with and anything less than a ten will improve your hand. Now, if the dealer has a 5 or 6 then the dealer has more of a chance for folding so doubling down is a great move for you at this point.

The same would go for a 4, 5 or 6 for an upcard but it you get anything else then take the hit. Having these cards is almost the same as playing soft hand 13 or 14. The reason is that most players will not stand on a 13 or 14 chances are you will not go bust with a 4, 5 or 6 in your hand. When you double down there is more money to win and you have to put together the best combination of cards in order to win the larger pot.

Playing a soft 17, would be wise if you are dealt a 3, 4, 5 or 6, if you don’t then take the hit. When you have a soft 17 the highest card you can be given is a 10 which will give you a 17 and the odds are that you will beat the dealer. These two circumstances combined make the double down a great way to get more money.

Playing soft 18 will consist of doing the following; doubling down if the dealer is showing a 3, 4, 5 or 6, Stand if the dealer has a 2, 7 or 8 and then takes the hit if the dealer has a 9, 10 or Ace. When you are playing with an 18 then you have to be careful because it is close to 21 and the last thing you want to do is go over.

Playing the Soft 19 to 21, this rule of thumb is simple, STAND, toy can’t improve a natural 21, it is an automatic winner. Any number from 19 to 21, you have a good chance of going over the top and that will cause you to bust.
